A
He reigns…
When I weep as I watch the news.
When a friend betrays.
When evil seems to win out over good.
When death lurks for people I love.
When daily work feels burdensome.
When my day feels out of control…everything and everyone else around me is moving along…in the wrong way.
“The Lord reigns; he is robed in majesty;
the Lord is robed; he has put on strength as his belt.
Yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved.
Your throne is established from of old;
you are from everlasting.”
Some days I feel the water is over my head. I can’t touch here and I’m tired of treading.
“ The floods have lifted up, O Lord,
the floods have lifted up their voice;
the floods lift up their roaring.”
But in all of my thinking of how chaotic the world is and, yes, sometimes my mind, life and home is….
He is mightier than the flood of chaos.
“Mightier than the thunders of many waters,
mightier than the waves of the sea,
the Lord on high is mighty!”
What would happen if I would consistently and boldly believe that?
In the most chaotic moments of my day…believe that He is mightier than whatever comes next. And be comforted by this:
“Your decrees are very trustworthy;
holiness befits your house,
O Lord, forevermore.”
The chaos of life can feel eternal. But the only thing that is truly eternal is Him and our souls. His decrees and His holiness.
One day we will live with Him in His house of holiness and trustworthy decrees.
He reigns now over you and over me. Even over this little neighborhood in Hermann, Missouri. In this house. Over this family. Over yours.
And…He will reign over us in holiness and trustworthiness for eternity.
These truths from Psalm 93 brought me comfort today, I hope it does for you too…

Yes, we can easily become very discouraged when we look at the world around us, but we know these things are just the birth pains for the end and Jesus already overcame this world and will make everything new. Oh, I cannot wait for that day when the lion will feed with the lamb.
Blessings XX

Me too…do you think we bloggers will be able to think back to all of our posts and smile at what the Lord has brought us through?
Beautiful Amy…love this. ♥
Thank you thank you…thanks for visiting this week!
So many are discouraged now with the hopelessness around us. So these words are so refreshing to read, here, now–He reigns! Indeed!
“What would happen if I would consistently and boldly believe that?”
I have to ask myself that as well….
You’re right…there does seem to be hopelessness like never before. Even for us Christians. Myself included. We should be boldly proclaiming something more and other than hopelessness. I do hope to change in this area!
Beautiful! I’m encouraged by your words today and I will think back to them in my daily routines, frustrations and joys. He reigns! Blessings!
Mary

How much less would this heart of my fret, if I ever keep this truth before my eyes and in my mouth.
Same here…I pray to grow in this in new ways this year!

He is robed in majesty! I have heard that 1,000 times, but somehow as I read that here, it sticks with me. So amazing that we have a God who reigns, always, forever…in majesty! UNITED, Jen
