We talk about who we most truly are.  How we can believe what God says instead of what our feelings say.

Amazed at Adoption

“I have my forever home!  I have been adopted!”  I can just imagine what my friend’s adopted daughter was thinking on her way to the U.S. after leaving the Ukraine and at least four years of being an orphan.  I remember the long years of waiting with my friend…the praying and the crying…the wondering of who it would be.

This would’ve been my exclamation too upon becoming a Christian…but I didn’t really understand at that point all of my new realities…

Tidbit Tuesday…The Absurdity of Living in Squalor

There once was a woman named Ida Mayfield Wood…perhaps you’ve heard of her.  She lived in squalor in a couple of rooms at New York’s Herald Square Hotel.  By the time of her death in 1932, Ida had hoarded nearly $1 million in cash in her hotel room.  The money was stuffed in pots and pans.  A diamond necklace was even found inside a Cracker Jack box.

Ida was found to have $10,000 in cash sealed around her  waist.

 Do you not know what is true of you in Christ?

The shards of a broken life fell on me cutting me and causing me to bleed. She sat easily in front of me as if to not hide a thing, gripped the sides of the chair as if to hold on for her life, and she truly did not hide a thing. All of it open bare and out. She took bricks off of her back one by one. Heavy tears flowed for each heavy chapter.
