I’m going to Graceland…

Come with me?

Graceland is the refreshing place in our minds where we think upon all that is true about God and all that is true about us.

We are able to go there when we throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles and we turn toward Jesus, His kingdom, and His grace.

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart” (Hebrews 12:1-3).

The God of the bible is passionate about redeeming all things for His glory.  He is making all things new by his grace…not just a new heavens and new earth someday. He is doing that every day here and now on this planet and in our lives.  This blog contains some of my daily glimpses into that in my own little sphere of life. I also offer services here that I hope will help others readily see and experience the Lord’s renewing work in their lives.

I write to remind myself that Jesus is renewing me, my life story, the people around me and even the world.  I write about turning away from my own way of thinking and living (a wasteland) and turning toward and yielding to the Jesus, his grace, and his kingdom (Graceland thinking and living).

I write in order to give God the glory for what I see Him doing around me.  I do have that dreaded “spiritual amnesia” and I need to read once again that Christ is renewing me, my life story, the people around me and even the world. He is transforming it all from a wasteland to Graceland.

  1. Amy, I hope it ok that I shared this link with my family and friends on Facebook. I don’t use facebook much but wanted to share your writings with my family and friends.

    • I’m definitely OK with it…thanks for sharing!

  2. I am so glad to have found your blog! “My life was once like a wasteland” as well. I came to Christ after living a life I am not proud of and as you said, on another page, a lot of damage had already been done. I was your neighbor on Titus 2sdays this morning and was coming over to read your linked post. I ended up spending quite some time here and am thankful I was led to you. I too felt called to write about my past and God’s grace. After much arguing with Him, I recently said yes and started blogging. I will follow you and come back to visit often…

    • Thank you for stopping by here. I can see we have similar stories too… After years of toying with the idea of writing I too just took the leap a year ago. I’m following you now too so–it will be neat to see what God does with your blog! Blessings to you as you follow His leading…

  3. Hi Amy, happy to find your blog, I enjoy your encouraging posts. I´d like to invite you to contribute to my mag´s next issue, but couldn´t find your contact form. Drop by my place when you can, and let´s discuss this possibility. Thanks.
