I find it hard to write on Tuesdays…there is less time because every Tuesday I do something special.  I talk to a dear friend and we discuss what God is doing in lives and then we pray.  We’ve been doing this for about a year now and I am finding that every Tuesday I come away with a new thought about how God is working in our lives or how I want to see him work in our lives.

Today I am thinking about the healing of the mind.  Every Tuesday I will pose a simple question or give a little tidbit of thought to start the day.  It will be short and simple…

For today…

Do you allow God time to heal your mind?  The fast pace of our lives strains us and puts our minds at risk.  We are mostly on the defense, responding quickly to all that comes at us.  I need to put myself on the offense and put truths into my stream of thought.  God-truths.  Truths about who I am in Christ.  Good things…about God.  About me.  It is crucial that we shape our thoughts because…our thoughts shape what we do.  I am wondering if…today…I can stop two times to intentionally feed my brain something good, pure, lovely, excellent, honorable, true, praise worthy.

Philippians 4:6-9

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.

Romans 12:2

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
